There's only 10 days left of Prompt Creative Centre. Here's what's on...

It's last drinks, the final curtain call, the final countdown, the end of the road... here's what's happening in the last week of Libby's venue.

Prompt is closing on June 30, but you have a few more chances to come and celebrate the past three years of artsy goodness before we close our doors forever.

We've got live music, burlesque, cabaret and then a grand finale curtain call bonanza that will send off the old girl (Prompt, not Libby, but also Libby) in the very best way. Featuring a range of performers who have regularly trodden the boards of our custom built stage, this will be a night to remember so we never forget.

WAPS: Thunderdome

To celebrate the end of Prompt Creative and launch a new producer incubation program Pilot Light (generously funded with a grant from Lesbians Incorporated), SIX established performers have generously donated their time to undertake the WAPs challenge: create a brand new act in just 4 weeks with only $50 - WELCOME TO THE BURLESQUE THUNDERDOME!

With Prompt owner Libby Trainor Parker in the cast and other Prompt owner Matthew Trainor as the judge, it seems like there might be some insider trading, but all bets are off in THE THUNDERDOME.

Prize for best dressed.  Theme is: Apocalypse NOW!

Prompt Final Curtain Call Gala

After three years as a creative arts venue, Prompt Creative Centre will close its doors at the end of this month. Please join us to give it a big send off on Saturday 28th with a chaotic gala for our final curtain call. Featuring performances from venue owners Libby Trainor Parker and Matt Trainor, with a greatest hits selection from their various comedy cabaret shows (Endo Days, Extra Curricular, Fashionably Late, Under the Covers and more), plus a host of guest performers who have graced the Prompt stage over its lifetime - this will be a night to celebrate everything the venue has been. A mix of cabaret, comedy, music and burlesque - drink specials and cheese platters will be available. All money from the night will go to venue shut down costs. One night only, with limited tickets - help up to say goodbye to Prompt in style.

Collabaret Open Mic

Doors 2:30pm. Show 3-5pm

This will be the final Collabaret at Prompt. If we can find a venue where we can make this show financially viable, we will endeavour to do so. But June 29 will be the final Collabaret on the Prompt stage before the venue closes.Collabaret is an open mic event for cabaret performers to try out new and untested stuff in front of a friendly audience of artists and cabaret enthusiasts.Collabaret features a headline artist supported by an open mic lineup of artists trying out new stuff, rehashing old stuff, testing out brand spankin' material, or braving the elements for their maiden stage voyage. There is a tipping system in place for audience to celebrate open mic artists.
