March is endometriosis awareness month, and award-winning author, entertainer and endo advocate Libby Trainor Parker (Endo Days, Extra Curricular, A Common Misconception) is heading to Yorke Peninsula to speak at an endometriosis luncheon, so she’s spending the weekend and bringing some education and endo-tainment with her!
Honoured to be a guest speaker at the Yorke Peninsula Endometriosis Awareness Luncheon at Yorke Valley Hotel in Maitland, Libby has also booked some space at the Maitland Information Centre to run a two-hour workshop, sharing her knowledge of memoir and storytelling.

Journalist, teacher and professional funny lady, Libby’s, debut book Endo Days: Life, Love and Laughter with Endometriosis (2023, Wakefield Press) is a funny and informative part memoir, part how-to guide and part stand-up comedy, routine has changed lives across the country.
With her second book, A Common Misconception: surviving miscarriage, infertility and grief due for release later this year via Echo Publishing, Libby has perfected the art of writing memoir with a message, and sharing heartbreak with a sprinkling of hilarity to give people something to smile about in a difficult time.
As a teacher by trade, Libby’s passion is passing on knowledge, which is the main purpose of her writing, but it’s also the motivation behind From Memory to Page, the memoir writing workshop she’s bringing to Maitland.
“I was invited to be a guest speaker at a lunch held to promote endometriosis awareness. I am looking forward to serving up some comedy and compassion in beautiful Yorke Peninsula, and offering support to the one in seven women and girls living with this chronic, incurable condition,” Libby says. “And I figured, while I’m in the area, I would love to meet some budding and established writers and see if we can inspire a few bestsellers!”
From Memory to Page is a writing workshop where we turn your stories into memoir. Everyone has a story; a story only they can tell. From the funny bits to the precious moments, our stories are our legacy. In this relaxed, fun and supportive session, Libby will guide participants through writing exercises designed to help turn your memories into written word.Perfect for beginners to established writers, From Memory to Page is about celebrating the memories of a life well lived and finding ways to put them down on paper. Because our stories matter. No writing experience necessary. Just bring your memories.
